Equity Research

Quality equity research is what drives SmicroCaps.  Our team actively seeks out small and micro capitalization public investments that Wall Street ignores.    Our analysts have helped to develop the three core principles that are central to delivering the highest quality product to our clients.

Consistent Focus

SmicroCaps does exactly what its name implies: provides world class equity research and related services for small and micro capitalization stocks.  We will not at any time launch new coverage on mega, large or mid cap stocks.  Our clients see enough perspectives and data points on these stocks from traditional Wall Street firms.  While we believe that it is valuable to have knowledge of these larger firms activities and a solid understanding of how their operations can trickle down to smaller companies, the world does not need yet another voice on how fast a mega-cap's year-over-year revenue growth will be.

Sector Expertise

The forms of sector expertise emphasized by SmicroCaps are both business line and scale oriented.  Our analysts know the SME (small and medium enterprise) scale segment that many of our coverage companies either service or fall into themselves.  These companies face unique challenges that are best understood by having a deep understanding of the company's management and corporate culture.  In terms of business line, the analysts of SmicroCaps either have prior work experience and contacts in their sector of focus or engage in months of detailed analysis to fully understand what makes the industry tick.  Our analysts have passion and drive to be the best in their industries and we believe that is a key driver of value in our research.

True Independence

Unlike firms that make the majority of their research profits off of investment banking deals, SmicroCaps values independent views and analysis.  Our senior analysts and directors constantly seek new ways to provide more value for our clients.  At many sell side institutions where research is considered a cost center, independence suffers as ratings and earnings estimates have an upward bias.  Even smaller "independent" research firms may create conflicts of interests by seeking to maximize trading commissions rather than keeping client costs low.  SmicroCaps seeks to provide the most independent quality research in the small and micro cap equity space.

We offer coverage on a variety of sectors and provide service tiers to meet the exact needs of our clients.

Coverage Requests

Investors may need a second opinion or proof of concept on a small or micro cap idea and that it is when requesting the start of new coverage on a given company could prove invaluable.  Our analysts can act as a quantitative check or soundboard before taking positions.  Small public companies may also contact us regarding coverage initiation.  As always, SmicroCaps operates under the strictest code of ethics and we will make every attempt to avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any and all relationships that could have any impact, regardless of significance level, on our independence.
